WHO WE ARE

We are the world's leading independent organization for children, working to give every child a healthy start in life.

Our Story

Save the Children was founded in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb, a British social reformer who was determined to improve the lives of children through education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in times of crisis.

Today, we are the world's leading independent organization for children. We work in 120 countries, helping children survive and thrive from birth through adolescence. We do whatever it takes to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm.

When crisis strikes, and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We ensure children's unique needs are met and their voices are heard. We deliver lasting results for millions of children, including those hardest to reach.
